Hi! My name is Katie. And I don't know what I'm doing.
I didn't go to school for marketing or branding or business or anything even remotely related to the industry I've ended up dedicating my life to for the past 19 years. But for 19 years, I've scraped and clawed my way through the mountain of things I DON'T know to support a performer and show that I believe in with all of my heart. Nowadays, I call myself a producer, but for most of my career, I didn't deem myself worthy of that title. When I set out to self-produce our first Off-Broadway run a couple of years ago, I confided in a fellow magician friend that I was terrified of this new "producer" role. His response? "You've been producing for years, Katie." Sometimes it takes someone else seeing something in you for you to see it in yourself.
So, hi! My name is Katie. And I am the producer of a successful family theater production called Mario the Maker Magician. Our little show began as a birthday party service and evolved into a theater production that has toured extensively throughout the US and completed SOLD OUT and smash hit runs in places like New York City, London, Sydney, Adelaide, Edinburgh, and beyond. Our little show has been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Vogue, The New York Times and countless other outlets we never thought would be accessible to us.
PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING DON'T MAKE INTERESTING THINGS. If I knew what I was doing in this crazy industry, we would not be where we are today. I want to help you unlearn what you think you know and dive into a world of things you DON'T know. I want to help you unlock new heights, new spaces, and new opportunities for your own show and art. I want to help you shed the fear of systems and institutions that feel impossible to access. If I can do it, so can you.
The magic and performer community has long supported Mario and our family. This is a way I feel I can give back. I don't run these workshops often, maybe once or twice per year. I don't market them beyond our own online community, so our groups are full of dedicated performers that are very much part of our world. It's a nurturing environment and I feel lucky to get to be a part of bringing folks together in this way. Thank you so much for your interest, and I hope to see you there (virtually!)
I'm doing things a little differently this time... rather than offering one several-hour-long workshop, I've split the topics up into four (4) different sessions, each covering a specific area of my expertise, and each at a very accessible price point. You may choose to sign up for one, two, three, or all of the sessions, depending on your specific goals and interests. There's a limited time deal running right now if you sign up for all 4 sessions. I hope this structure helps reach more people in a more focused way. If you have any questions, I'm here! Just email me.
